hy
how to get output of any query in excel through d2k forms like which we get in SQL TOOLS. i don't wan't csv file. i need output in EXCEL file.

Option 1: get a CSV, open it in Excel and save as XLS.
Option 2: Use an ODBC connection and start from Excel to get the external (Oracle) data via a query in Excel. I don't know the correct Excel terminology but it comes down to this.
Option 3: Use SYLK, another file format but readable by Excel and with limited formatting options
Option 4: Use TOAD or the like to export to Excel.

Is this even remotely Forms related?

hy
no this is not related to remote. actually what i want is as every body knows reports is printed for management persons. and they don't like to run reports (d2k inbuit report)and print output. they need just click the button and excel sheet open which fetched data and they give print command. how can we do this. Also there is no inbuilt template in D2K report which has table/line structure..means line after every row and column just like excel( grid). is there any site where we can download more template.

You can use forms and the forms OLE package to directly write into an excel file.

I'm sorry, I didn't quite get it. so you want: Create an Excel sheet from Forms.

hy
ya u r rit. i want output in excel through d2k forums. (for example in one button we write a curson select * from emp;') and when we click on the button output generate on excel sheet)
