Hi I am preparing to do OCP certification.I have completed my 1z0 007 paper recently.
Is it better to do 10g OCP or 11g OCP.I will be looking for a job in around 1 to 1.5 years..Or is it better to do 10g ocp and upgrade it to 11g...How many papers and training should i do to upgrade from 10g ocp to 11g ocp.
Pls help me

It means oracle will stop fixing bugs in 10g. Some companies will carry on using 10g for quite a while after that happens, and some companies are already using 11g.
But really just get the 11g OCP, companies using 10g will still offer you jobs if you have the 11g certification.

Can't see any benefits at all.
Virtually everything you will learn in the 11g course can be applied to 10g anyway.
And I would have thought, though I haven't checked, that getting the 11g OCP will cost the same as getting the 10g OCP, but the upgrade will cost extra.
If you want to know details of exams and costs have a look on the oracle website - they give all the details of what you need.
I still think you should go straight to the 11g.

I have taken 10g RAC Admin hands-on course which is good for 10g OCP but can I take 11g OCP instead of 10g OCP based on 10g training?

You can take any test you pay for, whether you can pass it without the new 11g information is another question all together! A lot changed between 10g and 11g, especially in RAC.

Dear Mike,
My question here is that will they consider my 10g course as the hands-on prerequisite for 11g OCP or not since the 10g course are no longer listed in the courses list for 11g OCP.
