ARABIC INTERFACE IN ORACLE FORM 10G [message #450170]

hi

I have a problem in oracle forms 10g, as a following:
Arabic language show as special character for example(????,!!!!!!,....),I use now charcterset AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 ,I cannot change this charcterset on my database
Because I am afraid that the old data may be lost
Note: I am use now oracle form 6i without no problem in Arabic language and when I intended to converted to oracle form 10g ,the language problem has come back, and I was try to change nls_lang to several charcterset charcterset(Arabic_Egypt.AR8MSWIN1256 ,......) but still show in special character character like (????,!!!!!!,....)
please help me

Hi,
Where did you change the NLS settings? I mean on Application Server side or your client side?

For the Arabic no need to change the database NLS. Just confirm the above.

please gimme reply ASAP. am also facing the same issue,,, my form displays ?????????????? charecters instead of araic data.

where to chage the nls_lang on application server. plssssss reply me ASAP.

Try searching the Application Server Oracle files fro 'nsl_lang'. The file containing it is probably one of the 'cfg' files.

This is really a question for the AS forum. It has been answered here before. Just search the 'Forms' and 'Server' forums for 'nls_lang' and PM the members that posted on them.

I used ARABIC_SAUDI ARABIA.AR8MSWIN1256 this nls_lang in registery it will complete change my look of application like arabic. But it will not take effect on your data and prompt.
